The rolling of steel is mainly hot rolling, cold rolling is usually only used to produce small section steel and sheet, etc. .

The termination temperature of hot rolling is generally 800 ~ 900 °C, after which it is cooled in air, thus the hot rolling state is equivalent to normalizing.

Most steel is rolled by hot rolling. Hot-rolled steel, due to the high temperature, the surface of a layer of iron oxide scale, which has a certain degree of corrosion resistance, open storage.But this oxide scale also makes the surface of hot-rolled steel rough, and the size fluctuates greatly, so the steel with smooth surface, accurate size and good mechanical properties should be produced by cold rolling with hot-rolled semi-finished products or finished products.

Advantages:

 rapid forming speed, high yield, and no damage coating, can be made into a variety of cross-section to meet the needs of the use of conditions; cold rolling can produce a large plastic deformation of steel, thus improving the yield point of steel.

CONS:

1. Although there is no hot plastic compression in the forming process, there is still residual stress in the section, which will influence the whole and local buckling characteristics of the steel.

 2. The cold-rolled section is generally of open section, which makes the free torsion stiffness of the section lower. Torsion is easy to occur when bending, and bending-torsional Buckling is easy to occur when compression, and the torsion resistance is poor. 

3. The Wall thickness of cold rolled formed steel is small, and it is not thickened at the corner where the plate is joined, so the ability of bearing local concentrated load is weak.

Tube blank → utting → heating → piercing → rolling → sizing → straightening → cutting head and tail → inspection → flaw detection → spraying → packing
